The Good Guys Garage Doors was built around a simple frustration: Bakersfield homeowners getting sold a new door when a spring, cable or roller was the real problem. So the rule here is diagnose first. That approach matters more in Bakersfield than in milder towns. Safety and Code-Aware Work
Every repair is checked against UL 325: contact auto-reverse and photo-eye reversal, with sensors no higher than 6 inches above the floor. New openers carry battery backup, as California law (SB 969) requires for newly installed residential openers. The pedestrian door between an attached garage and the house is a separate fire-separation matter under CRC R302.5 — a 1-3/8-inch solid or rated door, self-latching and self-closing — not a claim about the sectional door itself.
